JANUARY 22 ILWU COMMUNITY MARCH
On Thursday night, January 22, the ILWU, LA City Councilman Joe Buscaino, and the Community came together in support of ILWU's Contract struggle.

The Community March was a great success and we thank the community, Labor, and especially LA City Councilman Joe Buscaino for a great showing of support and solidarity as we work to achieve a good Contract for the working men and women of the ILWU.

PORT OF LONG BEACH MESSAGE - SAFETY ON THE GERALD DESMOND BRIDGE
The Port of Long Beach has the following safety message concerning construction zones on the Gerald Desmond Bridge:
Safety First in Gerald Desmond Bridge Construction Zones
As a reminder, for your safety and the safety of construction crews working in the Port area, please obey all traffic signs.
Use caution and reduce speeds when driving through the bridge project construction area and on detour routes. Traffic fines are doubled in work zones.
The crews working on the Gerald Desmond Bridge Replacement Project thank you for slowing down when passing their work zones.

LOCAL 63 HELPS FEED THE COMMUNITY
On November 25, 2014, Local 63 Officers and Members joined Locals 13, 94 and other ILWU locals and community members in their annual effort to help "feed the community" at Thanksgiving time. Thanksgiving baskets were assembled and distributed to needy families.

E-Board and Membership Action of November 16 2014
Attention Members: Per E-Board and Membership action of November 6, 2014, Sign-Ups are now being taken for Day Basic Board members (10 members only) to Check-In on the Night Basic Board.
Shifting to Nights will be on a seniority basis and all rules governing Basics working Nights shall apply.
REMINDER ON DISPATCH CHECK-IN TIMES
Reminder, if you work, the following are the earliest check-in times for Dispatch:
1st Shift -- 4:30 p.m.
2nd Shift - 2:30 a.m.
3rd Shift - 7:30 a.m.
*Exception, if you worked a vessel that finished, you can check-in when the ship is done.
